I've been cleaning out my vivariums this evening and watched the first disk of the 1970s British TV series Gangsters, which came out on DVD a couple of years back - for some reason I missed the news at the time and I've only just got it. It's one of the best shows of its time, starting out as a realistic gangster story set in Birmingham, a bit like Get Carter, but got increasingly weird as it went on. There's a strong element of the racial tensions of the period, and some wonderfully grotesque characters. The set includes the original long play that launched the characters, twelve 50 minute episodes, and an Open University drama course programme that uses the show for its examples of tension etc.

Basically, I strongly recommend it - but watch out for frequent racist remarks, nudity, and offensive language

Sounds interesting, didn't know there was nudity on British tv in the '70s.

Some strip club scenes and bonking - nothing full-frontal, but breasts etc.
