I really wish I could be aboard a nice yacht in the Indian Ocean tomorrow - they're getting an annular eclipse of the Sun and I've never seen one.

There was one visible from the very top of Scotland a few years back, and I was lucky to get to see it. It was at sunrise too - most impressive.

Sounds nice - but honesty compels me to mention that the last time there was a big one in the UK I didn't even make the relatively short trip to Cornwall to see totality (Or as it turned out 10/10 clouds) but stayed in London and got a nice day with no clouds but only 90% totality.

Look on the bright side - if you're not in a yacht in the Indian Ocean you can't be kidnapped by Somali pirates.

I think if anyone offers me a free yacht cruise tomorrow I'll take my chances with the pirates.

Well, so would I, but since it hasn't happened I might as well play the "glass is half full" card.
