Martha Jones must have had a lot of help during the year that never happened, but some of her helpers must have had their own agendas. 100 word Doctor Who / Angel Drabble.

This one is especially for [livejournal.com profile] speakr2customrs

100-word Dr Who / Angel crossover drabble, disclaimer below the story.

With Friends Like These... [4]
By Marcus L. Rowland

In the catacombs under Rome Ilona Costa Bianchi listens sympathetically then summons minions in a rapid stream of Italian. By the time Martha has showered new clothes are ready, and the best meal she's seen in months. "The Toclafane," scoffs Ilona, "they are savages. Pah! We shall speak of them no more."

"We shall spread your message with all our hearts," she promises. "These creatures have no right to end the world, and this spell you weave will be their undoing."

Later she contacts the Senior Partners, and tells them that the apocalypse they plan will still run to schedule.

End

Angel belongs to Mutant Enemy, Dr. Who to the BBC. There is no intent to infringe on copyright. This story may not be published on a profit-making basis.

Amazingly there is no Wikipedia entry for Ilona in the list of "minor" Angel characters. The Immortal gets several paragraphs and we never even see him! Pah, we shall speak of them no more!

Nice twist at the end there.

Thanks! It's maybe a bit too much like the first one, but there are only a limited number of variations possible on this theme.

I suspect you may have backed yourself into a corner with Martha's helpers all having to have their own agendas. I spent several minutes after the third one trying to think of other possible crossovers, and couldn't think of any. If you could bring in anybody, I'd love to see Tony Stark. OOOOOH.... maybe Lex Luthor?

Still, enjoyable and definitely a character that I wish I'd seen more of.

Oh, I'm sure there might be friendly agendas - Roswell comes to mind - I just haven't thought of any yet. I'm pretty sure that Lexcorp is busy churning out missile components for The Master, not sure about Stark.

[livejournal.com profile] speakr2customrs and [livejournal.com profile] curiouswombat have used Ilona in several stories.

Nice! I shall say that twice, for this is our way. Nice!

A couple of the others I've had to check out on Wikipedia; I'd never heard of Catherine Weaver, for instance, as to me the Terminator series ended with T2 (I got half-way through T3 and gave up in disgust, so I never watched the Sarah Connor Chronicles). However I've written a drabble as a contribution to your series, if it's any use to you, featuring Helen Cutter from Primeval:

“Time travellers from the far future, and aliens, and a Paradox Generator,” Helen mused. “That explains why none of the changes I’ve made have had any effect.” She cleaned her nails with an eleven-inch Bowie knife while she thought. “I could just take refuge in the Pliocene, I suppose, but it’s uncomfortable, and dangerous, and devoid of modern conveniences.” She looked up and nodded to Martha. “Very well. I’ll do my bit for your Doctor.”

Later, as Martha was escorted out of the hide-out by three of Helen’s burly bodyguards, she wondered why they all looked so alike. Triplets, perhaps?

Ooh yes - do you want to post this yourself, or should I add it as a chapter and credit to you? I'm posting to several sites (TTH, FFN, Teaspoon, and another Dr. Who one whose name I forget), so it might be easier if I do it.

Oh, and Terminator: SCC is MUCH better than T3; it's a logical extension of T2, with lashings of extra angst and plot, and Summer Glau as a "friendly" terminator who still seems to kill a remarkable number of people.

You can add it; to credit me at FFN call me Speaker-to-Customers, at TtH don't use the hyphens, the other sites aren't ones at which I have an identity.

It's a pity TtH doesn't have an option to allow specific people to add chapters to a story; there should be an intermediate stage between 'Anyone' and 'Just Me'.

Suggestion For Future One

Liked all of the ones you've done so far. How about doing one for Lost? Ben or Charles Widemore would be the obvious choice for allies with their own agenda but if you want a twist it could always be The Island itself.

Speaking of which, if there's one place on Earth that might be a safe sanctuary from the Toclofane it might be The Island, between it being nigh impossible to find, and Old Smokey there to give the smack down on any stray Toclofane that manage to stumble onto it.

Apologies - I just never got into Lost, I've only seen a couple of episodes and wouldn't feel confident writing the characters.

Very much LoL.
She's an awesome character, and, although I was never going to recognise her name, I recognised her.

(Should there be a comma after "Rome" in the first sentence?)
