Patrick O'Brien's final novel was unfinished; what there was of it was eventually published as two parallel texts - the manuscript he wrote by hand, and O'Brien's subsequent typewritten version.

The snag is that O'Brien didn't type up the last few pages, they only exist in handwritten form, and try as I might I can't read his handwriting. I get a few words then hit something I just can't decipher.

Does anyone know of a transcription on line anywhere?

according to the web, there's an audiobook version of 21 ... don't know whether that includes the handwritten stuff though ... other than that I drew a blank, sorry

Is there a scan of the handwritten pages?

Not that I've noticed. If all else fails I may give it a try.

Is there software that transcribes old handwriting.

Most OCR software barely handles small print.
