Anyone know a heating engineer?

My central heating system is pretty old and the service engineer who fixed a boiler fault a couple of weeks ago tells me that the pipes and probably radiators are clogged with sludge and need to be cleaned out, either chemically or by something called a power flush (which appears to be fairly expensive). Unfortunately my service policy doesn't cover that, so I need to find someone to do it.

Anyone able to recommend anyone in the London area? Preferably cheap and reasonably good?

I would have thought that was easy enough to do as a DIY job. Basically you are just draining and refilling your central heating - several times.

Of course I am no expert and generally shy away from such things.

You may well be right, but on the whole I would rather have heating that partially works - I really don't want to knacker the boiler if I get it wrong. I don't need it yet, the weather is still pretty warm, so I have a little time to sort something.

There's a guy who's done several jobs for my sister and seems to know his stuff, but he's a sod to get hold of, and not always good at turning up on the agreed date / time. So far I haven't been able to get anything organised with him.
