I think that cancer is a bad thing, since it has killed several members of my family. I do not believe that posting a meme saying that cancer is a bad thing does any good whatever. I do not believe that trying to guilt people out by doing so helps at all.

If you want to do something about cancer, donate money to medical research, taking care to find a charity that appears to be doing some good.

Please don't pass this on. Guilt trip memes are nobody's friend, and part of the idea of free will is that people get to make their own decisions.

Yeah. Also the whole bravery/courage/battle thing comes very close to blaming the victim....

As you know, I totally agree with you on this.

I've been ignoring it, because I don't do the chain-letter thing (which is basically what this is.) However, I totally support your stand.

I did it because I have several family members lost to it, and my husband is currently cancer-free now. I didn't see it that way at all. I donate, I support cancer research. The meme was about supporting all the people who live with cancer and their families. It was about showing that, for me. I don't really expect people to pass it on, or feel like I was making anyone feel guilty. This was just something that hit very close to home for me.
