I might just possibly have been working on a Saint / Dr. Who crossover. I've pretty much cracked the main plot, but it got me wondering...

Just to be a pedant, isn't she from 1980? :)

Runs for cover...

I'm inclined to ignore that - apart from anything else, it makes it more difficult to decide when the story is set, and it screws up the timeline for her childhood we saw in Sarah Jane Adventures. She'd be 29 when she first met the Doctor, and she looks a lot younger.

The 1960s ST would shag her, the 1970s version, nah.

About right. I'm thinking of an older Roger Moore version, but one who has been active as an adventurer since the 1920s but looks about 50 due to various supernatural events - see Christening Gift (http://www.tthfanfic.org/Story-20635/MarcusRowland+Christening+Gift.htm)

Ah, I was thinking of Sir Rog as the 60s version and Ian Ogilvy as the 70s...

I've never seen the Ogilvy, so he doesn't come to mind.

He wasn't memorable.

OMG, I've actually seen episodes of Saint. A product of several weeks with nothing to do but watch daytime television on Sky.

For a character that's been around since 1928 and appeared in dozens of books, several films, and two or three TV series he's surprisingly obscure. I seem to be about the only person writing fanfic, apart from I think one story based on the dreadful Val Kilmer film.
