I'd somehow missed this until it was mentioned by a couple of friends Torchwood is coming back, and Jack is still in it.

The only characters named so far are Jack and Gwen. My guesses are usually way off the mark, but I suspect that Mickey may end up as a team member, with Martha as an occasional visitor, eventually marrying Mickey and both leaving on idealogical grounds. Possibly one or two of the characters from Children of Earth?

I doubt that Ianto will return from the grave, despite being in the photo that illustrates the article I linked to - they already did that with Owen. And I REALLY hope they don't try to bring back Tosh or Owen yet again.

Who else? Not Donna, Rose, etc. Probably not Doctor 11 any time soon. And I doubt Sarah Jane, Luke, and co., she'd go to GREAT lengths to keep Capt. Jack out of their lives.

Captain John is an obvious possibility - he's presumably still around somewhere in time, currently James Marsters is in Caprica but that doesn't look to be a very important role so maybe he can find time to do other things.

Anyway, it will hopefully be interesting.

Considering that Noel Clarke is now a success as a writer/producer/director of Indie films, and has appeared this year (and is cast in) several medium budget films as an actor, I seriously doubt he would commit to anything but the sort of cameo he made in the last special.

Yes, I agree Noel Clarke is very unlikely except as a cameo or flashback.

I suspect there will be a swathe of new American characters, given Starz seem to have the biggest role in funding it.

Starz is a very gay friendly channel, so yeah, they might well go after Captain John.

I'd never heard of Starz. Interesting...

They intend to try and become an HBO competitor. But whether they will make it.

They're the channel that produce Spartacus: Blood And Sand, which isn't afraid of a healthy dose of violence, sex, nudity, and gay and lesbian relationships.

I wouldn't mind betting the new Torchwood will have a lot more nudity in it.

I could relate to that...

Have you seen Spartacus? It's trash, but entertaining trash. Very much inspired by 300 stylistically.

No, not really watching much TV right now.

Kai Owen as Rhys Williams is a strong possibility I think.

Lois Habiba, played by Cush Jumbo and

Liz May Brice as Agent Johnson of UNIT

Police Constable Andy Davidson, played by Tom Price Gwen's former partner.

Mr. Dekker, played by Ian Gelder

I think any of these are possible.

Oh yeah, Andy - yes, that would work. I think Rhys will continue to be more of a background figure. Lois and Agent Johnson are definite possibilities.

Mr. Dekker and Jack would NOT work well together - good source of dramatic tension though.

Mr. Dekker could provide the technical support much as Tosh did but with more experience and cynicism.

For awhile I thought Dekker was Torchwood Glasgow undercover.

What I meant was, I don't think they'll like each other much.

Considering Russell T Davies has now written stories for the latest series of the Sarah Jane Smith Adventures, featuring the 11th Doctor, as well as bringing back the Doctor's former assistant,
Jo Grant to appear in another, it seems unlikely that any of the above characters, will appear in Torchwood fairly soon...

I'm a bit behind on SJA, hadn't realised it was on again. Thanks for the heads up!
