I'm guessing that Amy is God, having gone native a la Dogma. Her life doesn't make sense because it's a retcon; she created the universe on June 26th 2010, and is travelling with the Doctor to fill in the back story. The Tardis is failing because it is travelling to times that don't actually exist until Amy gets there. The voice is the Metatron.

Or possibly not...

An interesting variant on what I wrote back in May, and closer to the Haruhi Suzumiya trope than I put out.

And in a week we will all know. Just hope the Universe-shattering kaboom isn't for real.

I'd forgotten your post - sorry I didn't acknowledge it. I don't actually believe this as such, but there is definitely something VERY odd about Amy, it would be good to know what.

I'm going back to the first episode to watch the bits with Wee Amelia, and she starts out with a prayer to Santa, which is kind of funny in light of your theory -- why would she pray to herself, I suppose?

And she specifically mentions that she'd doing so at Easter. That's an awful lot of religious holiday-ry in just a few sentences.

And "Amelia Pond" is an anagram for "Oedipal Man"! Amy is the Doctor's mother and Rory his dad! The unborn child in "Amy's Choice" was himself!
