Both [livejournal.com profile] darth_hamster and my mother are avid CSI fans and I've had to warn them both that scenes where blurry photos are 'enhanced' may result in Strong Ranting from me...

Me too - I'm not a very good photographer, and the idea that someone could take my photos and miraculously make the pictures perfect is just silly.

Well yes, Blade Runner was talking about some sort of holographic process as I recall, so it makes slightly more sense. And I don't recall it as being quite as silly as some of the CSI crap.

I think I wrote a CSI fanfic once where they found that the a video camera and recorder were so crap that they got the clearest picture when they didn't try to enhance it.
