Quotes from a thread on the Twisting the Hellmouth forums

As far as I know the only three people from the wizarding world who knew where Harry had been stashed was DD
And the squid (whose name I can't remember) who was watching over Harry while he grew up. Who one would think might have noticed how Harry was treated and reported back to Dumbledore.
My reaction:

Now I want to write a crossover which has Harry living underwater with evil fishy guardians, being watched over by a benevolent squid. Maybe a spongebob Squarepants crossover?

Except that I really don't want to write this - too many other things to do, and I don't know Spongebob Squarepants at all well. So if anyone feels like taking up the challenge...

I think a 'Stingray' crossover rather than Spongebob Squarepants. The evil fishy guardians would be King Titan's aquaphibians and there would be a role for Marina in there somewhere.

Like you, I have too much else going on. It was bad enough me being unable to resist the Judge Dee plot-bunny; if I started yet another new story my WIP readers would lynch me. And I don't know the Harry Potter canon well enough.

I don't think I'd want to write it either - but it sounds interesting...

Or as spkr says, Stingray would be fun. Or Little Mermaid.

Hmmm...

Knowing Potterfandom, there is probably a Giant Squid comm somewhere which might be grateful for this prompt (and if not, there should be *g*)

If there is please pass it along!

The phrase 'Benevolent Squid' conjures thoughts of Tom Smith's song Space Squid (http://www.tomsmithonline.com/lyrics/theme_from_space_squid.htm)

I think that there's some SF out there, I'm not sure of authors - probably at least one by Stross.
