re network drive

ffuturesA nasty thought has crossed my mind - this drive needed a firmware upgrade to make it work with Vista and OS-X, before I did that it was invisible to the iBook as it is now. Is there any way that the firmware could revert to the old version, but still work?
I found the maker's name (ATMT) but their site no longer has the firmware available, which doesn't help much.
later scrub that one, I found the file on my hard disk eventually, it didn't help.
