Yup. There's a NASA film I've seen (not sure which country made this one) that shows a cat reacting much more violently to free fall. Can't seem to find it, unfortunately.
Given you can't get more than 20-30 seconds of free fall in that sort of flight it isn't surprising that they didn't adapt - it would be interesting to see how they coped in a proper space flight.
