Eastercon hotel - Etap

Thanks to
vicarage I've booked a room at the Birmingham International Etap hotel for Eastercon - total cost under a third that of the main con hotel. I've never stayed there myself, but it turns out that two of my nieces have - they do sales work at trade fairs, shows, etc. and they stayed there a few years ago.
Their verdict - at the time it was a clean hotel, rooms are small but OK, the buffet breakfast is reasonably good. The only problem for room sharers they're aware of was a lack of privacy in the shower, it's a clear sliding glass door directly off the main room, not a separate bathroom.
The reviews seem to confirm this - mostly very positive, but you have to be aware that it's a no frills hotel with very basic facilities, that it's a good trek from the main hotel, and that there's no parking apart from the expensive airport car-park. Since I'm not planning to do anything except sleep and eat breakfast there, and a taxi will not cost a huge amount if I don't feel like walking, I don't see this as a problem.
later Forgot to say there's a shuttle bus service from the station, which is pretty near the hotel.

Comfy beds, good food, views to die for. May not have an Eastercon attached, but I'm sure I will find things to do!
