If anyone is still trying to get hold of the old Space Patrol TV series, the 6 DVD boxed set is available again. For some reason the price has risen to £49.95 since its last release, possibly because it was trading at £100+ for a while after it was previously discontinued, but it's one of the classic children's SF series, and fun if you have fond memories of 1960s TV.

Don't know if you've been watching "How TV Ruined Your Life" on BBC2, but last week Charlie Booker showed some clips from Space Patrol. He found all the clips that had things like, "Get a good look at Uranus", "Strange things coming from Uranus" and the like.

Good grief - is that the best they can find? I would have thought that some other aspects of the show, such as the taken-for-granted sexism, would have been more suitable for satire.
