Pulleys?

I need to get some pulleys that will clamp to the edge of a table. They are ludicrously expensive from all of the usual laboratory suppliers, but I have a feeling that there must be other uses for them. Basically, I need to hang up to say 3kg of weights over the edge of a bench on a string or wire - a metal pulley wheel is probably preferable, but plastic would do if the price is low.

Here's a picture - unfortunately this is from a US source, I can't find a cheap supplier in the UK

Anyone know of a source for something like this in the UK whose price is vaguely realistic?

Those are all around 12 quid, can't see any price reduction there - I'm looking for more like 3 or 4 quid tops, considering what they are.

Sorry Marcus, I meant half price compared to the one you found for 20 quid. I saw some real cheap ones on ebay, but with international shipping and whatnot, I don't think that they would be a bargain. Have you checked ebay UK?

First place I looked. Nothing.

Hardware stores sell all sorts of clamps and pulleys and stuff that you could cobble something together from that would do the job.

That's plan B - I can certainly do this with a pulley on a wooden block and a G-clamp, but something more like the traditional physics apparatus would be better.
