Network woes - now sorted!
Jul. 30th, 2011 10:28 pmSo I spoke too soon - while I now have all of the computers able to access the internet, as soon as I did that they apparently became unable to access the printer.
The situation here is that they should all be able to access the same workgroup, Aeronef. All three can see the two PCs, which have (empty) shared partitions, and the network hard disk.
The router is at IP address 192.168.1.254
The network hard drive is apparently at 192.168.1.200
The iBook is on a wireless connection
This PC is connected to the router via the switch and is at:
IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
DNS Servers: 87.194.255.154, 8.8.8.8
WINS Server:
The other PC is connected directly to the router using
IP Address: 192.168.1.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
DNS Servers: 87.194.255.154, 8.8.8.8
WINS Server:
The printer is connected via the switch and set up to use
IP Address: 192.168.0.227
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
Any suggestions?

Date: 2011-07-30 09:47 pm (UTC)Looks like I have to reinstall the drivers rather than just setting the address, which is a pain, but it's working again.
