...was a 30L steel Brabantia pedal bin, just the right size for my kitchen, and looking completely clean and unused apart from a few scratches on the lid. My guess, it was on display in a hardware store but never actually used, and ditched because it was unsellable with the scratches. Usually sells around £50, I got it for £9.99 - VERY good news because I've been meaning to get rid of the old one for months, it's disgusting.

The same model is here:

Now, out again to get some shopping, which was why I went out in the first place.

Happy bin find!

( I had to stop to think a bit what was meant by this very English term!)

I suppose it's a trash can out there?

Hmm - it's not very English - it's very British; as it is perfectly understandable to me, and I'm sure it would also be to a Scot, or a Welshman or an Irishman! Probably even to a Channel-islander...

Isn't it just - I've been thinking of buying one for weeks, and putting it off because I would either have to pay £40+ or buy on line (around £25-30) and have to be at home to take delivery.
