I love Dexter, but I hated, despised and worst that they're trying to have a Dexter/Deb ship starting off. I feel it's insulting towards any adopted relationship, that they act as if it's any less incest, just because they aren't bloodrelated.

I hope that Deb gets over the nonsense that that socalled therapist put on her.

I really doubt it - unless she somehow sees Dexter as a "safe" version of Rudy or something.

I agree with a comment I saw from someone else, regarding Deb’s psychiatrist: “Worst — therapist — ever.” The woman’s advice, in fact, was so idiotic and potentially destructive that I genuinely began to wonder if she had a personal agenda that would come out in the future.

Dexter has been a production of almost unalloyed brilliance ever since its first appearance, far transcending its original source material (Jeff Lindsay, the author of the Dexter series of books, still occasionally turns out some memorable phrases, but the stories themselves are unappetizing and increasingly non-entertaining). Given that track record, I maintain hope that next season will turn what I see into something worth watching.

Until such a thing happens, however, I can only see these developments as BAD.

I really can't see a Dex/Deb romance either, but given that Deb has known about Dexter since the first book (in the print version) I've been very interested to see how the show handles that revelation. I'm hoping that they'll find a way to handle it that doesn't involve Deb covering up for him - the one that I would find interesting would be Dex somehow escaping and covering his tracks enough that everyone thinks Deb has had some sort of breakdown, then her attempts to prove his guilt.
