Slow spaceships

The Enterprise episode currently on TV (entitled Precious Cargo) has a character in an escape pod saying that there's a solar system "about ninety kilometres away" and that they should be able to reach it in a day or so.

Unfortunately I didn't write down the exact distance and time specified, but unless I was mis-hearing fairly badly it implies that the pods travel at 5-10 KPH. If anyone has this episode on tape/DVD please let me know the exact words, since it's a natural for Dave Langford's "Thog" column in Ansible.

I remember that episode, and I'm pretty sure you heard wrong. I know the Trek writers aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree, but I doubt they would have made that kind of mistake. He may have been saying 90,000 kilometers away. But I honestly don't remember. It's been a while since I've seen any of the Enterprise episodes.

Sorry I can't be more positive on the info.

Various people have told me I misheard and that he actually said ninety million kilometres. So my ears obviously need syringing.
