Drabble: Seeing Yellow

Just an idea for the Buffyverse going a little AU during season 4. I don't think I've seen this idea done before, which is odd considering how obvious it is. One of the easiest Drabbles I've ever written...

Seeing Yellow

The window shatters. Tara says "...your shirt," falls.

Willow cradles her, watches the wound close. Tara gasps, eyes yellow, growls, leaps for the window, is gone.

Outside Buffy is hurt, Xander trying to help. Willow hurries out, uses her power to stabilise her. In the distance more shots, then Warren screams.

"Better stop her," says Xander.

"Why?" Willow says coldly. "Bullet went through her heart."

"Good thing it wasn't silver. How's Buffy?"

"Not good, but I think she'll make it."

The screaming stops. Tara trots back, chewing on an arm, goes inside.

"Good thing we didn't catch Oz before he bit her."

The screaming stops. Xander gets the tranquilliser gun and sets out after Tara, saying "Good thing we didn't catch Oz before he bit her."


Does that seem to work better?
