james_nicoll's blog led to me pointing out some similarities between the Sector General medical SF books by James White and the TV series House. I've now remembered that there was actually a medical TV series that might fit into this general area - Mercy Point, which ran for a few episodes in 1998-9 before cancellation.

It doesn't seem to be available on DVD etc.; in fact there don't even seem to be torrents, which may say something about its quality. Anyone know more?
