I forgot to buy cereals at the weekend, for about the fourth week running - the local Tesco is closed for refurbishment and Waitrose are expensive, which may help explain it - and found that I only had puffed rice left. Really didn't fancy it much, then noticed a yellow box at the back and thought "Hmm... haven't had Weetabix in a while."

So I picked up the box and took a look, and the use-by date was 2007. While I suspect that it is probably still OK to eat, I also suspect that any nutritional value is now gone, and what's left is a sort of dry fossil. Might also be some weevils in there, I didn't check. Maybe appropriate for vampires (Spike liked his with blood), but probably not entirely fit for human consumption.

Really must try to remember to buy some cereals...

As it happens, Waitrose are doing a 3 for 2 offer on all cereals at the moment. I came home Saturday with a carrier bag full of porridge.

Yes - I got three cereals and a bag of meusli that wasn't in the offer this afternoon.
