I'm not really in the market for a laser right now - the mono Canon laser I use works pretty well, and still has plenty of toner, but I came across this and thought it looks interesting. A networking duplex colour laser under a hundred quid. Consumables are a bit expensive, but it (or whatever replaces it) might be worth considering when the Canon dies.

Meanwhile Morgans are selling a duplexing A3 network wireless inkjet / scanner / copier / fax with six sets of cartridges for £135 - it's huge and I really don't want to go the inkjet route but it does Apple Airprint and other protocols so might be interesting for someone who really needs that.

later: Just to clarify, this can print up to A3 paper size, but only scans and faxes a maximum of A4. Still pretty useful if you need A3 printing. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nojay for pointing this out.

Their colour laser printer deals are pretty good too, with VERY cheap consumables, but none of them are duplexing, for that the Ricoh above may be the only option under 150 or so.

I like Ricoh - but the last Ricoh colour printers I used probable weighed the same as your bike!

This one is about 25-30kg. The Xerox colour laser I previously had was just as heavy and its consumables (rollers, transfer belts, etc.) and toner cost nearly twice as much as the printer alone. It just wasn't worth replacing them once the belt started to go. The Ricoh looks a better deal because a lot more is built into the toner cartridges, I think it won't need many other consumables.
