Double bayonet bulb holders?
Mar. 11th, 2016 08:38 pmPoundland stores now sell quite bright 5W LED bulbs, and I've determined that two of them are bright enough to replace one 18-23 W compact fluorescent bulb in most rooms of my flat. The trouble is that they only appear to be available in large bayonet fitting (the standard UK fitting for most room lights) whereas adapters to use two bulbs in one socket only appear to be available with screw sockets, even if they have a bayonet base. This means that I would need a bayonet to two screw socket adapter and two screw to bayonet adapters for each light, at a cost of £3 if I buy them on eBay from Hong Kong.
The snag, of course, is that this looks a bit naff, and in some fittings won't be practical because the shade will get in the way. So far I've done one light, which doesn't look too bad because it's a big wide shade, but the others will be trickier.
Can anyone point me at a source of adapters that are bayonet to two bayonets (and possibly bayonet to three bayonets for one room) that aren't huge, ugly, or hideously expensive?

The dimmable ones are Ledare and vary from £5 to £15 depending on how many lumens you're after.

Date: 2016-03-12 05:38 pm (UTC)It's four of these 1000 lumen 13W bulbs -- http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00257482/?query=00257482 at £10 each. You'd need adapters as well though, which are about £1 each on Amazon or eBay.
You're welcome to just have one to see if they work for you, alternatively.
