I bought a weird spoon in Portobello Road a couple of weeks back, and can't seem to identify it. It's made of stainless steel; an Ikea product, 20 cm long, and looks like this:

spoon

I'm guessing it's intended as an ice cream server, melon scooper, or something of the sort, but I can't find it anywhere on Ikea's web site and it's starting to bug me. Anyone recognise it?

That's an Ikea Eye Gouger. From their Ultra-Violence range.

The Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves line did occur to me...

IKEA have had some odd designs over the years. I vaguely remember our neighbours having cutlery that looked a bit like this one. Can't say for sure, but I think that's just an ordinary dessert spoon.

Weird. It's too big to be comfortable to handle.

We have this cutlery. It was very cheap. We kind of hate it because of the spoon shape. The other items were all basically ok. It's just an ordinary cutlery set but you're right that it's a bad design. It also appears to be indestructible.

The pattern is IKEA DATA.

Thanks - I think it's OK as some sort of serving spoon, just not for eating with.
