Sold another iMac
Jun. 23rd, 2016 07:42 amForgot to say that I sold the 17" iMac G4 I had listed on eBay - sold on Monday night, got it packed and sent on Tuesday, the buyer was very happy and left me feedback on Wednesday. Why can't all ebay sales be like that?

Date: 2016-06-23 08:24 am (UTC)Feedback is even stranger - there are people who find reasons to complain about every item and say they will leave bad feedback if they don't get some money back - my standard response is to say "return it for a refund" and refuse to do anything else, oddly they never want to do that. So when I'm selling I generally leave feedback once I get it, or after a couple of weeks if I don't. When I'm buying I leave it once I've seen the goods and know I've got what I paid for.
Vendors leaving feedback immediately after payment is fairly common, but usually it's the people who sell thousands of items a day and know that by the law of averages a lot of people will never reply, and there will always be a proportion who complain for one reason or another, so really don't care. That's why you see a lot of big vendors with say 97% positive feedback but shouldn't assume they really disappoint 3% of customers. Only e.g. 25% of customers actually leave feedback, but that will include everyone who had a problem.
But there's one guy who has now sold me cloth pouches (which I use for the lenses I sell) three times. It's a good product and I've always left feedback accordingly. He's never replied.
