Yet another Groot Drabble. Sorry, there are some ideas that just won't go away...


Spelling Mistake

"Groot," said Quill, "there's another email from that Jackson guy."

"I am Groot."

"Yeah, pretty persistent. Anyway apparently he wants you to play... now get this... an insect in his next movie."

"I am Groot."

"Yeah, a little thing with six legs about yea big."

"I am Groot."

"No idea. It's based on some book called the Silmarillion, never heard of it."

"I am Groot."

"No, dude, sorry, he keeps talking a lot of money, but I really can't see anything coming of it. The guy can't even spell properly..."

"I am Groot."

"Really. Keeps spelling 'ant' with an 'e'!"

End

Because Peter was a little boy when he was abducted, he might have missed some popular culture...

Looks good to me. Sadly, Quill is an 80's kid, so he missed out on Ralph Bakshi's LotR and Rankin/Bass's The Hobbit and The Two Towers. At least two of those had Ents.

Thanks - I'd forgotten Bakshi's version but it was early enough, and poorly received, that Quill may have never seen it. And the books are fairly heavy going for a kid that age.

Thanks - I wrote this in about five minutes, I think it's the first Drabble I've ever written that came out at exactly 100 words without any editing, so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself!
