Vaccine Ho!

Got a letter from the NHS asking me to book a Covid vaccination today, and (contrary to expectations) had no trouble finding a nearby centre with plenty of time slots and booking an appointment. Accordingly I will be trekking a whole 2.2 miles on Wednesday afternoon, and getting the booster at the same place in May. It's very near the school where I used to work, and if things were more normal I might drop in and say "hi", but not under the current circumstances.

Excellent! Best of luck. I had reactions after, but they’re a very good sign, showing my body was mounting a protective response. You will get a detailed information leaflet to take away.

I'm usually OK with vaccinations, hope I will be this time too.

It's an improvement over what's been the situation up to now. Good luck and vigilance. If things can be safely and ethically sped up, I hope that they are!

Well, the vaccination centre is a branch of John Bell and Croydon (chemists), so it looks like they're spreading out from just a few big centres. The letter said that if I didn't want to make an appointment right away my GP surgery would be doing it fairly soon, so hopefully it's becoming a lot easier.
