This evening I had a message asking me if I wanted to install a new Waterfox update, as happens every so often. I clicked yes and it then said it couldn't do the update automatically, i'd have to download it and run the install.

Like an idiot I did this - only to find that what it installed was the "new" Waterfox which loses most of the backward compatibility the software previously had, including things like the desktop bookmark organizer extension I use several times an hour. It also didn't keep my bloody bookmarks! So far I've spent a couple of hours trying to recover them with no success. All cookies are also gone. In other words, I now have to log in to every bloody web site I use, find my own user profile, etc. etc.

So instead I'm going to switch back to Firefox after three or four years of Waterfox and hope that most of the stuff I use regularly is already there. It's a pain in the arse, but it's better than trying to get Waterfox up from scratch...

VERY annoyed!
