Fun episode, but a bit predictable. Is it just my imagination, or was that based on something from 2000 AD? The name of the Meep rings a huge bell. Think it might have been a Tharg's Future Shocks strip, not sure.

LATER - Watching Dr. Who Unleashed, turns out it was an eight-part serial in Dr Who Weekly in 1980, by Pat Mills and Dave Gibbons, which is the 2000 AD connection - I've seen the page they showed on screen, though I don't think I remember reading the whole story.

I read that story in the 80's when Marvel reprinted it during its run of Doctor Who comics. It was a fourth Doctor adventure.

I remember reading it at the time - I bought DWW (as it then was) from issue 1. I may even have that run in a box in the garage somewhere!

It was such a delight to see Mills and Gibbons so overcome at seeing their story (and The Meep!) brought to live four decades on.
