Disabled Comments on my Livejournal Account

I was looking something up on my Livejournal account and noticed quite a lot of spam. Since anything I post there will duplicate something I've posted here, I've disabled all comments on my Livejournal account. Hopefully this will also hide existing comments - that isn't something I've done before, and I would be grateful if someone else could check it that has worked. I can't remember what the last post was that had comments, which I know isn't very helpful...

It does appear to have worked as far as removing the ability to comment on new posts is concerned, but I didn't think to check on what effect it has had on old posts.

No worries - I really doubt it matters much, it just annoys me a little that there was spam. Livejournal SAY it should work, it'll do for now.
