...British Summer Time begins tonight at 1 AM. Time to reset everything that doesn't take care of itself.

Not quite as annoying as it used to be for me, since two clocks and a watch are radio controlled and the computers get time signals from the net, but still a bit of a PITA resetting the videos, DVD recorder, central heating timer, etc.

As I was typing the above they announced that C5 (the British channel that shows CSI) will be showing NCIS from next Saturday. "Is it anything like CSI" "Only if you're dyslexic." Looks like it might be fun.

It's a military police thing - Navy Criminal Investigation Service, I think - which is allegedly somewhat CSI-like and seems to be quite popular in the US. Haven't seen any episodes, but it sounds interesting.

I found it underwhelming. YMMV.

So nothing to do with the National Criminal Intelligence Service (www.ncis.co.uk) then.

According to < A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time">Wikipedia the US will change next weekend. They are altering the date in 2007, not to align themselves with Europe, but to go to the second Sunday in March, to save energy. The rules in Indiana and Arizona are great fun.

Hey, let's really screw up the almanacs, operating systems, etc...

It's a spinoff from JAG, and it can be pretty good. A mixture of CSI type stuff (they've got their lab people who do all those things) and a shoot-em-up cop show. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and sometimes the humour can get self referential. (Their head pathologist, Dr. "Ducky" Mallard, is played by David McCallum. In one episode someone says that he looked a lot like Illya Kuryakin when he was younger.)

I just found out that my VCR adjusted itself automatically while the cable box hasn't yet...

Rather underwhelmed by NCIS myself. One of the programs currently available in HD, tho'.

It's sort of on par with Crossing Jordan -- do they air that in the UK?

Haven't noticed it, but I'm not very good at keeping track.
