There be frogs here!

Here's some pictures of the frogs currently over-running our garden pond. The odd part isn't the frogs - they're just the common English frog, Rana temporaria - it's the fact that this is a teeny pond a bit larger than a bath in the middle of London. I counted 14 frogs at once yesterday, we think there are a lot more. Also loads of frog and toad tadpoles. And a half dozen VERY large goldfish who seem to be quite unphased by all of the tadpoles nicking their food pellets. And I'm not even going to try to list all the invertebrate species, the odd birds that drop in for a meal, the foxes, etc...

This is just the whole pond - small, isn't it! About 5ft x 4ft and 3 feet or so deep, in fact. We have no idea why it suddenly became frog and toad Mecca a few years ago, but it has.
