Anyone want an external SCSI DAT tape streamer, 2gb, no logo but believed to be HP? Interface is old-style 50-pin centronics, has t-res, may even have a spare power lead for it. Bloody heavy, so must be collected from London W2.

Too small and slow to be useful to me any more, but might suit someone with an older system (probably not, but I don't want to bin it without checking)

There really isn't much use for something like this any more. It made sense when it took three or four hours to do a 2 gb backup onto CD-R, these days it's 2-3 minutes per CD, and some time soon I hope to put in a DVD writer to let me do everything without even having to swap disks (until I use a lot more hard disk space anyway - at the moment all of my actual data will go onto two CDs.)

I've tried selling it, I've tried giving it away, looks like the next step is the dustbin.

could have made use of it as a client still has these tapes in use for user-specific backups and it's sometimes a bit awkward when you don't have access to the drive at midnight. *shrugs*

Trouble is they are a sod to post without getting damaged - when I received it a few years ago there was a serious problem caused by being dropped in transit, took ages to get it sorted.
