Still incredibly tired, but I've put together the front cover for the advertising thing

May not work properly in Mac preview, I used PDF creator to make it, it's much better than Acrobat for getting single pages down to a small size.

UK Freeforms wants to market some of the games we've written at the writing weekends and we've got a game which might mention characters like Father Ed, and Mrs Boyle. Would be interested in any thoughts you might have?

It's more than 100 years old so I think I'm legally OK, but it's no problem replacing it in case I'm wrong. Thanks for the suggestion.

If you mean something like "Father Ed, who behaves a lot like Father Ted but we never explicitly say so" you're probably OK, especially if you have a disclaimer saying that it's a parody or something. But change details, e.g. he's from Shaggy Island, not Craggy, and don't take all your characters and events from one source.

That's right - I assume that you are using Adobe Reader, not Mac preview to view it?

I'm using Safari, which uses the Preview engine.

It took me a while with Apple tech support to get bloody Acrobat disabled -- I installed it to use Infinite Armies, and it decided that it should be my browser reader as well. Had to manually delete plist files and all sorts of nonsense to get back to using Apple software. Simply disabling the options in Reader and Safari didn't work. (I know some people prefer Acrobat, but I find it a lot slower than Preview. And I'm pissed enough with Adobe for making it so bloody hard to uninstall that I'm not buying any more Adobe products.)

OK, sounds like the bug in PDF creator that makes the files incompatible with Preview has been fixed (or possibly you're using a later version of preview than I was) - I didn't notice since I've got acrobat on the ibook, and it's a fast enough machine that I haven't wanted to uninstall it.

Thanks - to be honest the Mac compatibility thing isn't a big issue, the final version will be compiled using Acrobat and Preview has never had trouble with real Acrobat files.
