Contextual horror

If like me you don't like the way that putting the mouse cursor near a user pic now brings up a little floaty menu, help is at hand!

When I moaned about this in another thread lnr pointed out that you can get rid of it by going to

http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/

And turning off "contextual hover menu"

I'm pretty sure that doing this has speeded up page display too.

It boggles me that there's endless whining about the journal entry page, which is a fairly trivial change, but virtually none about something as bloodly irritating as this.

what I would be very interested to know is just how many LJ users are using the dedicated LJ IM chat program.

No idea - I don't really like chat-type stuff much, I prefer email etc.
