Seen EVERYWHERE - Mega Dr. Who S4 spoilers

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7114699.stm

I really can't imagine how they think this is a good idea, since it totally ruins something pretty important from an earlier season.

We keep telling ourselves, "Maybe Steven wrote it. If Steven wrote it, it won't be *too* bad..."

Usually followed by, "Fuck you, Russell!"

*sigh*

Sounds about right.

I bet RTD manages to ruin things for both the pro-Rose and anti-Rose people...

I must confess that my first thought was "Yay, less convoluted plots for Rose/Martha fic!".

PS: Apparently Sarah Jane is in one of the two parters with the rest of the fawn squad.

And I always thought that the really heavy handed "Never, not ever, EVER can this breach be re-opened... EVER!" was always pretty much RTD saying "of course, she'll be back for cameos."

Well, of course. Dr Who Heaven, like Mutant Heaven, has revolving doors.

Well, again, it's not like she was dead dead dead... unlike her Dad (oops) or the Master (oopity oops).

I'm trying to popularise the phrase referring to genre dead characters as "dead as doctor doom", due to the infamous Doom Death rules...

I can't say I'm surprised. Wish I could, but I can't.

Maybe they'll bring back Katarina, Sara Kingdom and Adric while they're at it...

You know, I was just thinking that they'd run into Adric and possibly Romana again.

That's the problem with accessible parallel universes. If there are an infinite number of universes where Adric lived, and others where the Doctor failed each episode, why should we care about the version we saw?
(Real life might have infinite parallel universes too, but since we can only perceive one, there's a reason to care about it, even if in theory an infinite number of alternate us might be caring about their own different version.)

Yes, the BBC are total idiots. Or rather, RTD is a total idiot who has made a lot of money for them so they go along with him.

I have to say it doesn't surprise me. They could do it without contradicting what was said earlier, I think - after all, if it would be a really bad idea for the Doctor to reopen the breach to visit Rose, then if someone/something else tries to open it, clearly both the Doctor and Rose are going to do what they can to fix things again.

Indeed they are. The more I hear about the new season the less I think that I'm going to enjoy it. :(

It really does depend on *how* she is coming back.

Perhaps it is flashbacks or meeting her before she went into the other dimension?
Or another clever way, clones, robots, centre of the TARDIS, etc?

If she is just rescued and back again then it is all wrong. Wrong, wrong wrong.

It's does seem terribly self-indulgent of the writers. "And now, before we go on hiatus, we're bringing back EVERYONE, living, dead, or stuck somewhere, for an encore!"

Like comic books, having invented an alternate continuum, it was probably inevitable they would go back there in some plot twist.

Still, the Daleks keep getting totally eliminated from the universe, and that never stops them.
(Although I guess the Doctor never did get back to e-space, Adric having been dealt with another way. Unless that is in one of the later seasons that I've never seen all the way through.)

To mangle a Douglas Adams scene:
"And let's hear it for the Great Prophet Rassilon!"

"Now, how are we for time..."

Well, this is the same network that canceled "Hex"...
