Are the BBC total idiots?

I really can't imagine how they think this is a good idea, since it totally ruins something pretty important from an earlier season.

Date: 2007-11-27 01:00 pm (UTC)And I always thought that the really heavy handed "Never, not ever, EVER can this breach be re-opened... EVER!" was always pretty much RTD saying "of course, she'll be back for cameos."

Date: 2007-11-27 01:22 pm (UTC)I'm trying to popularise the phrase referring to genre dead characters as "dead as doctor doom", due to the infamous Doom Death rules...

Date: 2007-11-27 05:11 pm (UTC)(Real life might have infinite parallel universes too, but since we can only perceive one, there's a reason to care about it, even if in theory an infinite number of alternate us might be caring about their own different version.)

Date: 2007-11-27 08:54 pm (UTC)Perhaps it is flashbacks or meeting her before she went into the other dimension?
Or another clever way, clones, robots, centre of the TARDIS, etc?
If she is just rescued and back again then it is all wrong. Wrong, wrong wrong.

Date: 2007-11-27 11:32 pm (UTC)Like comic books, having invented an alternate continuum, it was probably inevitable they would go back there in some plot twist.
Still, the Daleks keep getting totally eliminated from the universe, and that never stops them.
(Although I guess the Doctor never did get back to e-space, Adric having been dealt with another way. Unless that is in one of the later seasons that I've never seen all the way through.)
To mangle a Douglas Adams scene:
"And let's hear it for the Great Prophet Rassilon!"
"Now, how are we for time..."
