I got some ready-to-cook breaded camembert portions, which are supposed to be deep fried before eating.

What they don't say is whether they should be served hot or cold once cooked; I was hoping I could cook up a batch for guests, but if they are supposed to be eaten hot the logistics would be a bit difficult. Anyone know?

Best served hot - or at least warm (but be careful not to get burned).

Cold, they're pretty gross, to be honest....

That's what I feared. OK, maybe not such a good idea then.

Hot, with a cranberry sauce, although other warm berry sauces can be lovely too! Also, the microwave/oven is your friend if your trying to make a large batch (like pancakes!)

Thanks - Oven is probably my best bet then, I can cook a batch in the afternoon then dig them out once guests arrive.

Forgot to say that they come with little tubs of cranberry sauce - it's some sort of catering pack, eight 100g cheeses and eight tubs of sauce.

Nothing fried should be served cold, with the notable exception of Southern Fried Chicken. And that's better hot, too.

No argument, I was just hoping this might be an exception. Although cooking them and keeping them warm in the oven might be a possibility. We shall see...

Hot - so that the middle is runny. But you can usually put them in oven so that you can do all 8 together - I've done them for 8 a while back, in the oven, and it worked. Are they the ones that come complete with cranberry sauce? - the ones I did in the oven, did.

That's the type - little pots of sauce.

Hot, but allow them time to cool just a bit before biting into them. The cheese holds the heat for a little while, and boy, does it burn your mouth.
