Last night I noticed a newly listed 1gb Samsung Q1 UMPC on eBay, described as perfect condition and with no bids, despite a fairly low starting price, running XP tablet edition. To cut a long story short, the seller needed a quick sale so he could pay a bill and there were only two bids, both in the last few seconds, and mine was the highest by a couple of quid.

The seller was in London so I went over and picked it up this evening, and it really is as described - immaculate, boxed, and complete with the external keyboard and case. I'm not 100% sure it's going to turn out to be the right laptop for me, since with the case and keyboard it's actually a bit bulkier than the HP 2133, but it really does seem to be a nice machine and I want to give it a fair try before deciding, since I'm pretty sure I'll make a profit if I sell it any time soon.

All of which brings me to a little problem...

I'm crap at wireless networking, especially with Windows laptops, and I can't figure out how to make it aware of the network file server and printer. What it boils down to, I think, is that I don't know how to tell it that it's a member of the workgroup that includes them. I managed to sort this out for the iBook, but I'm not sure where you enter this data under windows. All of my other PCs are connected by wire which doesn't help much.

Anyone know?
