Since it's me you may end up with drabble length or shorter, and probably crossovers. Please limit it to fandoms I actually seem to know about!

[Grins evilly] How about: Five times Methos refused a beer.

Right then...

1: The beer at Cleopatra's court tastes like camel-piss; after the first taste Methos spits it out. It takes him nearly a month of intolerable sobriety to persuade her to let him take over as royal brewer, and another to produce beer that meets his exacting standards. She hates it, and yet again he has to fake his own death to get away from an angry woman.

2: Dublin 1859, the centenary of the opening of the Guinness brewery. He's already had eighteen free pints when they get out the really good stuff, and even an immortal can't face another. It's a disaster he'll long remember.

3: After MacLeod kills Byron. The man was mad, but it's still a tragedy. He's in no mood to celebrate.

4: When he hears that Ramirez is dead he turns down his usual beer, and drinks wine in his memory.

5: The night Alexa Bond dies. He thinks about getting very very drunk, but doesn't have the heart for it.

1: Drinking with Jack Harkness; they could watch each other's back and make sure that the gorram con man didn't bamboozle them too much.

2: Swapping lies about the old legend of Slayers from Earth-that-was. It's all Shiang Jing^[1] but it makes for a good story. And if both of them find themselves glancing at River just a little too often that evening they soon get over it.

3: The day Mal comes back to life in Simon's arms, and Simon finally explains why Mal really does need to learn how to use a sword.

4: River's wedding night, they get hammered together. Neither of them expected her to end up with Inara, but when you think about it, who else could possibly keep up with her?

5: The evening after they bury Jayne. He dies taking out the last of the Terminators, and they drink to the memory of the saviour of the whole rutting 'verse, not just gorram Canton.

1: Leaving Gotham to seek... not enlightenment, perhaps, but whatever substitute for it will help his quest for justice... he visits his parents' grave for a final farewell.

2: Burying Jason.

3: After Superman's funeral - he was busy while it was going on.

4: When they finally bury the Joker. No tears for that one...

5: And when Alfred finally retires. He just hopes that the replacement Alfred found will be worthy of his predecessor.
