Greetings from Amazon.co.uk,

We've noticed that customers who have purchased or rated books by Alan Moore
have also purchased "Elementary Lessons in Intell. Arith" by James Robinson. For
this reason, you might like to know that "Elementary Lessons in Intell. Arith"
is now available. You can order yours for just £13.99 by following the link
below.

As far as I can make out it's a reprint of a 19th century maths text book. Does the program that sends these things have no sense?

I don't think the programmes can distinguish between different people called Alan Moore

It's a programme. It works, as far as I can tell, on the simple idea that if one person purchases an item they will be interested in any item ever purchased by by someone else who purchased that item....

Actually I think it's the other way around - on further investigation there's another James Robinson who writes comics.

I thought categories came into it too, but see the other comment and my reply, which I think solve the mystery.

I'm not sure about that, since if I happen to say I own a specific film it promptly asks me if I want soundtracks or games (neither of which I have ever purchased) not just for that film but a lot of other films, some of which are out of left field.

His Starman was excellent.

Maybe the old math text is meant to be a companion to League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?
