The perils of living near a railway

ffuturesI think I need to get out for a few hours. There are large numbers of workmen laying new track on the Hammersmith and City line right opposite my house, and whatever machine they're using is loud enough to do my head in. The Crossrail tunnel construction beyond that is actually quiet by comparison.
