I've decided that my original version of the flame gun (e.g. weapon so ludicrously dangerous to its user you would have to be out of your mind to carry it, and likely to be demanded by all adventurers) as on the icon above isn't very convincing, so I'm going to reduce the size of that image and label it as a "concept drawing," and go with this bad boy instead:

I've tentatively called this the Ruger Titan and yesterday's stun gun the Colt Pacifier. Any other suggestions?

"Titan" seems kind of a nonspecific name for a heat weapon. Was Ruger the first to make such a weapon? If so, might they have named it something that reflects the theme of flame and heat as opposed to bullets? The Vulcan, the Thunderbolt, the Thor, the Mjollnir, the Meteor, the Prometheus, the Archangel?

"Pacifier" is as good a name as any: the utilitarian tone seems to work. I can imagine that users would come up with it as a nickname if it wasn't the official name. Though it does suggest a baby's pacifier, and puts the user in the role of a nursemaid. I'm not sure if the image is manly enough for Colt's marketing department to go for it. Maybe "Peacemaker," with "pacifier" as the common nickname?

Good point re. Titan - it does need to be something that gives an image of heat, Vulcan is an excellent idea.

Wasn't one of colt's pistols called a Peacemaker?

Colt Single Action Army was known as the Peacemaker. First made in 1873, it's the one you see in westerns.

I was also going to say, Ruger don't really go in for names, just model numbers, but the same is true of most arms manufacturers so you may as well make up what you like. There is a company called Vulcan that makes rifles, mostly knock-offs of the designs of others, AR-15, Galil, etc.
