In Weinbaum's story the main city on Titan is called "Nivea." I've tried to look that up on line, and in other contexts (e.g. as part of a scientific name) it appears to mean "snow white" or "snowy white" according to the site I look at.

It's not particularly important, but if anyone happens to know which is correct, or if there is a better translation, I'd be grateful.

It's latin for 'snow white' (niveus/nivea/niveum).

I also remember it for being part of the scientific name of the green banana cockroach (Panchlora nivea) that I spotted while visiting Cuba once.

Thanks - I got that translation from a flower name, so it's presumably fairly standard.

It's also a brand name for a face cream, in case it matters.
