Poundland in Portobello Road has polished granite chopping boards for £1. Other branches may have them too.

I'm VERY tempted to go back and buy enough to tile my bathroom floor, but I think they might be a bit chilly.

Well, if they are like most granite chopping boards I've seen, they will have rounded corners and edges, so grouting will be a pain.

By the way, a tip of the hat from your fellow Brit, Jamie Oliver, never use your good knives on glass or granite, they will dull your blades.

No, they're not rounded. I've decided not to do it anyway, apart from anything else I'd need transport to get that many lumps of granite home.

Useless for chopping but useful for preparing other food that needs to remain as cool as possible, or you could use them for presentation (e.g. cheeseboard).

I think cheesboard may be what they were actually intended for.
