I want to set up the default for my home wifi as automatic addressing but DNS always set to 8.8.8.8 - is there any way to do this so that it sticks? I don't mind if it has to be the same for all WiFi connections.

The reason for asking this is that it worked perfectly every time until I took it out and logged into another network today - now I'm back home and I had to enter this again to get it to work.

It's certainly possible. You need to add "prepend domain-name-servers 8.8.8.8;" to dhclient options.

How to do this from the GUI? I have no idea. Real Unix Geeks edit /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf

I'll give it a try.

OK, there was a commented-out version of that with a different DNS in there, so I took out the # at the start and changed the address to 8.8.8.8

I'll be going somewhere where I can log on to another network tomorrow, I'll try doing that then at home to see what happens.

Forgot to say that that worked perfectly.
