Just back from my niece's wedding; a reasonably nice civil ceremony in Islington Town Hall, followed by a reception at a pub in Highgate. Everything went pretty well, thank Cthulhu, the bride looked radiant, and I have 50-odd photos to get organised, on CD and hopefully as a web site. My brother-in-law ought to have some free web space, but he's never accessed it and may not know the password, and I don't really want to wait until he can contact technical support on Monday or later.

Can anyone recommend any free web hosting service that isn't plastered in advertising, which will let me open an account on a Sunday and won't mind a site that will probably have a lot of hits at first, and a big initial download, then probably fizzle off to relatively little afterwards.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a free web hosting service that doesn't have advertising and pop-ups.

If you just want to host photos, then fotopic is quite good as, unlike with photobucket, you can create proper thumbnail albums and change colour schemes and layout.
It's free and there isn't much annoying advertising.
