...was good fun, and the story worked well, especially when it became clear what was going on. And had some wonderful bits of metafiction in it.

Worth seeing - I hope the new series will be as good.

I really enjoyed the metafiction, and the running commentary by the characters on being characters in Watson's Strand Magazine stories. I really like the dialogue, the music, and the visuals.

It's not until I think about it afterwards that I get really annoyed about its knowingly patronizing treatment of women, both as in plot and dialogue and as characters.

I suspect that they're setting us up for plot in the next season.
