Walked past the Round Pond a few days ago, still lots of swans there, presumably because of the warm weather. A few photos:
A small procession of swans

A duck with an attitude problem - "You looking at me? Stitch this, Jimmy!" - exactly the expression I imagine when I think of Pratchett's Nac Mac Feegles...

And a small child who was enjoying herself with all the birds and was greatly offended when her parents snatched her up as the swan got a bit closer.

And ongoing repairs to one of the locks on the canal near Kentish Town earlier this week.

Date: 2016-01-31 05:59 pm (UTC)I've been trying to work out what your Nac Mac Feegle duck is... I think it might be a Goldeneye (http://www.rspb.org.uk/discoverandenjoynature/discoverandlearn/birdguide/name/g/goldeneye/index.aspx), because that is a very distinctive feature! Also the shape of the head looks right. On the less-sure side, your photo doesn't look to be showing any hint of green in the breast, but maybe that's due to light levels...
